Ornament of Neelum Valley | Ratti Gali Lake | Dowarian
A charming lake in Neelum Valley with adventurous travel and trekking is Ratti Gali Lake, which adds beauty to the valley and is known to be the ornament of Neelum Valley, Azad Kashmir at an elevation of about 12130 feet above sea level. Water from the surrounding glacier mountains streams to the lake giving splendid sight to eyes. This lake is only visible during pleasant summer as in winter it remains covered with snow.

This piece of beauty is cited in Neelum Valley in Azad Kashmir, surrounded by high mountains. It can be accessed from Dowarian and also from Naran>Jhalkad>Noori top. Nearest Village and the point known to be the Basecamp of this lake for tourists is “Dowarian” and trek through Dowarian is comparatively easy.
One can reach “Dowarian” travelling through a metaled road from Keran. From Dowarian a jeep trek leads to the lake and further trekking by foot. Lake is accessible only when snow melts from walking trials. As it is really a difficult trek during winter.
Must keep sufficient luggage with you like footwear, sleeping bags, cooking equipment, trekking stick and some first aid kit too.
Best time to visit this lake is from July to November, as beauty is at peak during this period of year.
